Today I added two new features to the search page and features tab on each phone. The two new additions are GPS & 3G. Many of the phones that have been released recently have GPS functionality built in. Now you can see which phones have GPS built in by performing a simple search. Additionally with the advent of 3G networks many of the new phones have the ability to run on the 3G networks. Now you will be able to easily see which phones have this ability. You can quickly find out which phone have GPS and/or 3G capabilities by going to the Search page and clicking on the associated check boxes.

Good morning everyone. Well, it happened. I made my first big business mistake. As you might have noticed yesterday trendycellular.com did not look like the site you are use to looking at. It looked like the picture above. What happened? The domain name on the site actually ran out without me knowing it. THANKFULLY, the domain name is held for one week until it is released out to the market again. As soon as I realized the domain name had expired I bought it again. The site is now back up and running just like it was before. You can rest assured that this mistake will never happen again. I guess it’s just growing pains!

A few months backed it was revealed that Blackberry was coming out with a new touchscreen device, the Blackberry Thunder. Well now there is some official proof that Blackberry’s first touchscreen device is set to launch. Here in the US the official name is set to be the Blackberry Storm 9350. The picture above is for the box the Storm 9350 will come in for Verizon Wireless customers. You should be damn happy if you’re a Verizon Wireless customer. There is rumors that the phone could be released as early as October. Stay tuned!

That’s right, Blackberry is in advanced stages of creating its first flip phone, the Kickstart. The Blackberry Kickstart will have a SureType keyboard similar to the Blackberry Pearl. I’m not sure when it will come out since Blackberry hasn’t even officially announced the phone yet, but my guess is sometime at the end of this year or early next year. The initial colors I’ve seen are red and black. It will be interesting to see how well the phone sells. We’ll see if Blackberry users are willing to go to a flip phone. If you ask me it kind of takes away from the mystique of Blackberry and turns it into an average looking phone.

HTC announced today its latest phone, the HTC S740. The S740 is the successor to the S730. The S740 is definitely a big step up from the S730. The S740 follows in the design footsteps of the Touch Diamond and Touch Pro. The S740 is a sleek and elegant looking phone. If you’re looking for a highly stylish business phone than the S740 is your answer. Unlike the recently launched HTC phones, the S740 is not a touch screen. The phone is a quad-band GSM slider phone that reveals a FULL Qwerty keyboard. The keyboard will make it easier for users to use the Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard operating system. With the Windows operating system you’ll be able to access all your favorite Windows Office programs.
Additional features include a 3.2 megapixel camera (no flash), Bluetooth, MPS3 player and FM transmitter. If you’re worried about accessing the Internet at high speeds you have nothing to worry about with the S740. The S740 runs on the 3G network and it has Wi-Fi built in. Nokia today announced it’s latest mobile handheld device, the Nokia N79. The N79 is yet another powerhouse cell phone from Nokia. The N79 is a quad-band GSM phone with 3G technology built-in. The N79 comes with a 5 megapixel camera, MP3 player, FM transmitter, Wi-FI capabilities and so much more. The N79 is set to be launched in Eurpoe later this year. Hopefully just like the N96 there will be a US version announced at some point. If not I guess we can always go the unlocked route. You can see more photos and specs for the N79 by visiting Nokia N79. For all you Friendster fans there will be a special widget designed to access Friendster. Here’s what Nokia is saying:
“A Friendster widget will also be made available for the Nokia N79 via the WidSets service. This will allow people to browse Friendster friends’ profiles, view and post shoutouts, upload pictures taken with their handset, and browse their own and friends’ photo albums. All this enables more effective communication with friends while away from a computer using the Nokia N79. New users can even register for Friendster directly on their device via a link to Friendster’s mobile site (m.friendster.com), create an account, and instantly begin participating in the Friendster global community.”
I think in the US Nokia should consider making a Facebook widget also.

The highly anticipated announcement of the Nokia N96 US version has finally been announced. The US version is a mirror image of the N96 that was released in Europe earlier this year. The only difference is that the US version will be working on UMTS 850/1900. UMTS frequencies are used if you’re traveling in Europe and Asia. As with the earlier released version the N96 will be packing a 5 megapixel camera along with a whopping 16GB of internal memory. The Nokia N96 is a dual slider. This phone is a multimedia powerhouse. You can watch videos on the phone along with playing the latest video games built for cell phones. Look for the US version to be released later this year.

By now I’m sure you’re all aware that Barack Obama announced his choice for Vice President via SMS text message. This is the first time that such an important political announcement has been made via a text message. Forget about a political announcement, it was an announcement for the selected Democratic VP. Obama has been targeting the “younger” generation and this was a great way to get his message out to the masses. It’s quite a turn from the traditional television announcement. It will be interesting to see how McCain announced his VP choice. What’s your guess?
