US Airways Hudson River Plane Crash Game For iPhone

Laminar Research has created a game for the iPhone which simulates the US Airways landing in the Hudson River. As you remember the famous pilot, Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, landed the plane in the river on January 15th and everyone survived. Laminar Research now lets users become Sully and land the plane in the Hudson.

In the game you start out on Runway 4 at LaGuardia Airport. You take off and follow rectangular hoops which simulate the exact path the plane took. You get the actual air traffic communication between Sully and air traffic control. The game developer tried to keep everything as realistic as possible.

I’m really not sure how this game ranks on the tasteless scale. On one hand you can say this game is totally tasteless do to the possible nature of what could have happened that January day. On the other had you can “claim” it’s just another simulation game. I’ll let you guys be the judge.
