Overall:
The SGH-t509 (otherwise known as the Plum) is a great standard phone. I have this phone and I get a lot of use out of it. I'm not really into texting and taking pictures so this phone really does the trick. It's easy to operate. The only downside is the earpiece does not get loud enough.

The touch screen on this phone is pretty cool and having the full keyboard is always such an advantage for heavy texters...but I found it hard to see the screen when I was in an area with bright light and that was pretty annoying. I just feel like the quality was not what I expected.

Overall:
I have had the Pantech Duo in its wine red color since March of '08. This phone is really great.
Positives: It looks really nice. It slides vertically and horizontally which impresses an astonishing amount of people the first time they see it. It comes loaded with Windows Mobile 6 which is very user friendly and solid all around. I have always had great reception... maybe that's just AT&T being sweet, but really, not complaints at all. The camera is what you would expect. The full keyboard is small yet easy to use. Voice commands work really well for making calls, pulling up contacts, and playing your music (I have a 2gb microSD card). The screen is very nice and colorful.
Negatives: The phone does not have a flash for the camera, does not have a touch screen, and does not have Wi-Fi. The navigation is so easy on the phone that I don't feel like I'm missing anything without a touch screen but I know it's important for a lot of people. The internet on the phone is pretty basic, doesn't look like real websites like the iphone, but it operates on the 3G network, really fast. Having Wi-Fi would really make this an amazing phone, the one feature I do not have which I really wish I did.
Overall: Great phone. Do not believe other reviews about it being flimsy or bulky. When sitting, thinking about something else, I tend to just sit there sliding my phone open and shut over and over, and not gently. It has endured it for months without any signs of wear. It also feels quite small in my pocket. I often forget it's there until I need it. Best phone I have ever had.

Overall:
Of all the cellphones I have owned, I found this particular one to be the easiest to use. It has a standard button layout with individual keys which makes it great for txting while driving because you do not typically need to look at the keys to use the phone. I always seemed to press the cancel button while txting, which immediately cancels what you are doing, because it was crammed right beside the top number keys - getting familier with the phone helped and didn't cause too much frustration.
The phone has useful features although nothing too fancy. So check out the specifications to see what you get - because you get what it says you get.
The phone has a fairly good response time, with a margin for improvement. I haven't tried any of the later models of this series, but I would recommend giving them a look if you can affort to.

Overall:
The Samsung SPH-a900 series has always been a well publicised cellular phone since its inception into the market. It's features, at the time, where useful and plentyful. However, since then, it has become apparent - to me and others - that this phone is very mediocre.
The phones has a wonderfully flat body, although is difficult to txt with due the the linear keypad. The position of the buttons is very normal. It is not designed for txting while driving (regardless of laws pertaining to txting and driving), you certainly will have difficulty using the keys without looking at them.
I was very dissapointed by how quickly the battery life deteriorated. At first, with fairly regular use throughout the day, the phone would last about 48 hours without requiring recharging. After about two weeks, the phone would lose all of it's charge within 24 hours, regardless of how much use the phone recieved. I am on my third battery now for this reason - the batteries cost around $49.99 in NZD from a provider's shop.
The phone does not allow particularly easy transfer of all it's media files. Ones downloaded from the telecom are not accessable to be transfered via bluetooth to anywhere (for sharing etc), although I have not tried an actual data-transfer cable - as these are expensive. This phone takes movies and pictures with it's built-in swiveling camera, which evidently drain the battery faster then anything.
In battery saving mode, which I'd recommend using to slightly extend battery life, there is a significant amount of lag between when the button is pressed and when the phone actually responds. In general the phone is partial to slow, laggy operation, although has not completely frozen on me yet.

I personally love this phone. First and foremost, it provides practically any feature/functions literally at your finger tips. Phone, MP3 player, email, maps and other useful applications are just some of the functions appearing on the "home" screen. The GPS is a nice new addiction to the maps feature from the original iphone as well as faster web browsing. The only complaint I have is the relative inconvenience of having such a big phone. I used to have a flip phone and from time to time i miss having a palm sized, pocket friendly cell phone. But, I guess it's a small price to pay for such functionality.

Both my girlfirned and I have this phone. It is compact, light, and has everything you need. I got a 2 gigabyte hard drive and am able to do video, 3 megapixel pictures, voice recording and download music. The screen is able to be customized which I like and the track ball works sooo much better than the scroll wheel. The GPS function is also nice, but I don't have it activated. Browsing the internet is easy and the quality is also very good. Once a month the phone locks-up and I need to reset it. This doesn't happen to my girlfriends phone, just mine. That is the only issue I've had. I wish the camera took better quality pictures. It would also have been nice if it came with a memory card to start with, which it didn't. Also pocket calls are somewhat of a regular occurrence if you don't lock the phone. You cannot change the color of the track ball like the 8100, but I still love it. I highly recommend it!
